Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ClockSplit is a product of Gobvantage Technologies ("Gobvantage", "we", "us", or "our"). We build software tools for freelance professionals. Our products are operated from the United States.

2. What information we collect

Guest users (no account): When you use ClockSplit without an account, no information is sent to our servers. Your hourly rate and time sessions are stored entirely in your browser's localStorage and never leave your device.

Registered users: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (securely hashed — never stored in plain text). Your time entries and hourly rate are stored in our Supabase-hosted database, associated with your account ID.

Payment data: When you purchase a Pro or Lifetime plan, payment is processed by Polar.sh. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We receive a webhook notification confirming the purchase and record only: your email, plan type, and an order reference ID.

3. How we use your information

• To provide and operate the ClockSplit service.
• To verify Pro subscription status and gate Pro features.
• To allow you to access your sessions across multiple devices.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Data storage and security

Registered user data is stored in Supabase, a PostgreSQL cloud database with row-level security. Row-level security (RLS) policies ensure each user can only access their own data — not other users' sessions or settings.

Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with secure token management. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.

5. Cookies and localStorage

ClockSplit uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to store session state. For registered users, Supabase stores a session token in localStorage under a ClockSplit-specific key that does not interact with other websites.

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us. Guest users can clear their data by using the "Clear all sessions" button in Settings, or by clearing their browser's localStorage for this site.

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database, auth, and hosting. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
• Polar.sh — payment processing. Subject to Polar's privacy policy.
• Hostinger — web hosting. Subject to Hostinger's privacy policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new date. Continued use of ClockSplit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
